Parra for Nike Air Max 1

Many people have been waiting for the news on these special Air Max 1’s. Initially though to be part of the celebration of Patta’s 5th anniversary last year, since they released 4 different colorways of the Air Max 1 to commemorate the occasion. What we thought was going to be the final release of the 5th pair we now find out is a actually a Parra shoe. We saw sneak peeks of the shoe in videos and at the Magic tradeshow in Las Vegas but now we know they will be released. It looks like it will be hard to get our hands on these as they will be limited to Patta. Designed by Parra the upper of the shoe is made up of a mix of suede and mesh with a chenille swoosh. The Parra logo is put onto the tongue in Blue along with the laces and upper eyelets. The shoeliner will contain special graphics from Parra. The shoe is finished off with a special multi-colored outsole. Going to be sole at Patta on March 13th this limited shoes will make it to very select Nike Sportswear accounts as well. Better call in your favors as this shoe will be hard to grab. If you know a sneakerstore who will be public the sneaker, please post at comment.  A detailed look at the Air Max 1 follow after the jump.

Nike Dunk Low “Incredible Hulk” Customs

Back in June 2009 Nike brought to us the Nike Dunk “Planet Of The Apes” designed by sneaker customizer Chrisco. Little did we know at the time but those were just the kicker to what is known as the Marvel Mash-Up, a collection of custom sneakers inspired by a variety of Marvel Comics. After debuting the first pair we are now pleased to present you Vol. 2 of the Marvel Mash-Up by Chrisco.

For volume 2 Chrisco went with a Nike Dunk Low carrying a theme inspired by none other then Dr. Bruce Banner, also known as the Incredible Hulk. As the story goes Bruce Banner was accidentally exposed to a test detonation of a gamma bomb he invented which has caused him at times, usually when he gets mad, to involuntarily transform into the green, raging giant known as the Hulk. For his Hulk inspired Dunks Chrisco started off with a pair of White on White Low’s and painted the tongue, toe box, mid-panel and ankle panel all Green to match the Hulk’s body color. Purple denim with rugged edges was then fastened around the frontal, heel, and on the lace panels to present the Hulk’s ripped purple pants from the Marvel Comic series. Black felt was then stitched up on the Nike Swoosh and on the heel tab which includes “HULK” in Green embroidery, and a Marvel Comics logo was then worked onto a pair of tongue tags for the sneakers. The upper itself is no doubt a well executed design but what really helps wraps up these customs for me is the sole swap Chrisco did taking the sole unit from a pair of Earthquake Nike Dunks and incorporating it onto the Dunk Low to bring forth the cracked rock/cement pattern that the Incredible Hulk is usually associated with.

Aston Martin x Kobe Bryant x Nike Hyperdunk

2008, when Nike released the Hyperdunk they started working together with LA Lakers Superstar Kobe Bryant to promote their new kicks. They produced several videos with Kobe jumping to incredible heights which Nike wanted us to believe was only possible when wearing a pair of the ultra light Hyperdunks. Kobe was seen jumping over an assortment of things, one of them being a moving Aston Martin.

Now Aston Martin isn´t any longer only featured with a car in a video but got its´ own sneaker toghether with Kobe. The shoes feature a chrome like Metallic Silver finish on the toe, ankle panel, lace panels and heel cap, with a Gunmetal color on the Flywire upper and Silver again on the mid-sole. The inner lining is fabricated from smooth Red leather to resemble the exotic leather interior on an Aston Martin and fixed to the tongue is a round piece of carbon fiber with Kobe’s name, the Aston Martin logo and the Nike Swoosh all printed on it in a stacked formation. Kobe’s signature is also included on the backside of the tongue on a Red leather tag.

These kicks will be limited to 500 pairs and are expected to drop sometime during Spring.

To celebrate the premiere of HBO’s “How to Make it in America,” HBO and Complex magazine partnered with ALIFE to produce a series of 5-panel hats inspired by the new show, starring Bryan Greenberg, Victor Rasuk and Kid Cudi.
Legendary NY graffiti artist and “How to Make It in America” guest star Lee Quinones worked with ALIFE founders Rob Cristofaro and Arnaud Dellecolle on a custom design that evoked the show’s “American Dream” theme. The image of a pair of crossed fingers holding a hundred dollar bill represents the hustle and hope for success.

Only 300 hats were produced and can be found in 3 classic colors: black, red and heather grey.  Complex.com will be giving 100 hats away via an online sweepstakes. Make sure to visit Complex to enter for their chance to win.

Lasonic’s iPod Boombox

The iPod has certainly become the primary option for listening to music. But some of us miss the good ol’ days when we used to pop in a cassette and haul a boombox down the block while listening to “Fight The Power.” For those of you that are too young, just watch Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing” and check out the legendary Radio Raheem. Lasonic was one of the first to blend the digital advancements of the iPod with the nostalgia of the boombox with their i931 model. Originally released back in 2008, the Ghetto Blaster may have flew under the radar but its unique style is something worth noting. It has an iPod dock, AM/FM radio, alarm, supports SD and USB flash, EQ adjuster, and uses AC power or batteries. The company also announced that they will be releasing a new model this year that is compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch. You can cop the older model now at Lasonic’s online store for $129.
