Long heralded as one of the top art schools in the nation, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena has produced countless heavyweights in the industry for a long time. Product Design student, Nancy Wu, looks to be headed into that very direction with her masterful approach to cut and sew sneaker design. Taking elements from three separate pairs of footwear, Wu constructs various new models featuring a look reminiscent of those old school Roman sandals with a new age approach. Although the complete reconstruction customs have been done before, her designs are taken to another level with the creation of a completely original silhouette.

Element has collaborated with Imaginary Foundation on a series of skatedecks.
“The Imaginary Foundation is a think tank from Switzerland that does experimental research on new ways of thinking and the power of the imagination. They hold dear a belief in human potential and seek progress in all directions. The small clandestine team is headed up by the mysterious “Director,” a 70 something uber intellectual who’s father founded the Dadist movement. Avoiding direct publicity the team has sought streetwear as an unlikely vehicle for bringing their ideas beyond the academic realm and into popular culture.”
Visually the graphics by Imaginary Foundation have always been directly identifiable, which is also the case with the skatedecks. Look out for a release in the coming weeks.

We recently stumbled upon these nike shoe transformer toys. Although they were originally released last year,
one can’t help but re-examine these designs. Each transformers is packaged in a nike shoe box. Inside the box the toy looks like a typical nike running shoe, however once you start playing around you realize that the shoe
is actually a transformers toy.

After your watch and goggle is customized now, it’s time for your own snowboard. For that Burton has created an own customizing service, called Series 13. It starts with choosing a board. We picked the good old Custom X. Now get your theme, use your own image or one of the standard themes. After you finished playing around with colors and fades, you can think about a text for the base and colorize the sidewall. That’s it! very easy, very fast and of course very individual!
